Hi Michael

it's mainly because there is a 20 pence per litre tax break on fuel duty given to FAME biodiesel and because it can be put into diesel vehicles without modifcation.
There is no percentage PPO in biodiesel, although there is 5% biodiesel in forecourt pump diesel.

Given the choice I would prefer to use ppo and not to have to use biodiesel and handling the nasty chemicals needed to make it, it is more environmentally friendly than biodiesel, but our democratically elected leaders appear to think differently.
