In the entropy-network boards are a old message are forwarded (2005) of the newest gofrost version. In a few days this message is lost again. So i think it's a good idea to commit it here too. Howlong this board exists, the message will stored as info for new users in future. so allow me to forward it here too, because nowhereelse gofrost has a support board! thank you

Long time ago since last version! :(
I didn't know all changes i've done in the last year.
Just few little things for myself and i fixed few nullpointer Exceptions i've found.
Statusbar refresh changed from 10 seconds to 5 minuts because before i've never thinking that gofrost have about 20.000 files to count!
Fixing the oneshot upload/download bug.
Files < 50 mb is uploading as one part now.
Files > 50mb are splited to 2mb sized chunks.
Some more cleanup routines included at exit and startup (but garbage collector still keep temporary files that should be deleted on exit)This is just the JAR file for those who want testing it and not an official version.
(i need more time for testing this before i commit a official version but Entropy_rsa is a good reason to announce this one)
Rename it to "gofrost.jar" and replace it with the one in your old gofrost directory (keep your old one somewhere else)
The source is like allways in the JAR include (jar's are zip files for those that didn''t know it).
Maybe last work of mine on gofrost. lets see!gofrost.jar.1.0x_20050623_001

Software from strangers is allways a risc!!!!BTW: this version and splitfiles should be compatible with the older ones. up and downloads should works alltimes.
use a less thread setting than in the older versions and a lower upload htl like 5 .. maybe it's a good idea howlong are not enough nodes online.
Feedbacks are welome!Reason for this update:

And this key is easier to load, because it avoids the split file stuff. Split files are a bad idea, except for huge files perhaps, but not for a few MB files. I'd suggest to use split files only for files > 50MB. By splitting up small files you decrease chances to find them completely any time later, because more parts are required to be intact on some node. And even for huge files you should increase the split block size to a few MB (perhaps 2 MB at least, because that's the fragment size in the new network). So this gofrost zip fits into a single chunk on the new network, as any file below 2MB.

I'm on it .. but it's seems to be very heavy to find a route for files (and splitfiles) which got a size 2mb's and more! (with this less nodecount)
I'm testing the fileupload of a ~10mb sized file with "old" (1.0w) and "new" (see above) rules. old rules needs just 15 minuts and the new rules didn't find any route for uploading.
??? any suggestions or a plan "B"?

Changed Splitfile size to 32mb insteed 2mb of previous 1.0x for files that are >=50mbCHK@Bn334ai61IYS8McZSw3PQcZhs_JFakP,aF6oj5k9VtjxdD4AWWGbPD/gofrost.jar(1.0x_20050702_002)
md5: f35a662e7852491f3c22bb679d5c00d9Still not a official version!
Just for those that likes to test it and want give a responds.32mb sized Splitfiles are just "uploadable" when the Net is > ~16 Nodes. (keep your version 1.0w for the worst case!)
you should set the Upload Threads to 1 (one) per file and the connection Timeout not less than "1800000" ( less or more -depending on your bandwitdh) because 32mb are huge splitparts! (version < 1.0x setting depends on the filesize and was between 256kb - 2mb per chunk)What you thinking about a usersetting for Splitfilesize and a usersetting for files-size before the file should to be splitted. (yet hardcoded size 50mb; see above)
Are there any riscs for the Net, performence or non growed up gf-users? ;)2005.7.02 - 07:51:55GMT
I forgot to tell that the source is like allways included in the JAR file!

tried out both versions (gofrost.jar.1.0x_20050623_001 and gofrost.jar(1.0x_20050702_002)).
seems that gofrost.jar.1.0x_20050623_001 best for entropy_rsa (how long the network has less nodes).the chk-key for gofrost.jar.1.0x_20050623_001 (see above) is from the old entropy-network!
the new chk-key for gofrost.jar.1.0x_20050623_001 is:
